A new toy

I got myself something fun this weekend.

My new 30x loupe.
My new loupe – it was actually the display model, which is why the case is scuffed. Still works great!
It's a 30x loupe, which I got for $10 at the Bone Room, a morbid curiosity shop in Berkeley. I decided to use it tonight to take some low-budget macro shots. The results were mixed, but sort of fun. I also got a 65x mini handheld microscope thing as well, but there's no way I'll be able to use that with my phone camera. I think I first saw someone use a loupe this way on Terra Forums, but I can't remember who it was, alas.

Utricularia livida scape close up.
Utricularia livida scape. This will probably be more interesting in a couple weeks when the flowers are open.

Sphagnum moss with Drosera brevifolia. I like the contrasting colors.
The pictures are pretty fun at least
