My name is Devon Peterson and I am a sundew fanatic.
I started collecting carnivorous plants back around October 2013, and somehow now I'm vice president of the Bay Area Carnivorous Plant Society. Things happened sort of quickly. I like carnivores because they're almost like pets, except it's a somewhat less devastating if they get ill or die.
I started the blog because I haven't found very many active carnivorous plant blogs, and none that focus on sundews. Blogging also gives me something to do with my plants even when they don't need food or water or repotting or anything. If you're interested in more carnivorous plant blog action, I have a list on my links page.
I'm always happy to hear from someone who reads the blog, and will answer questions to the best of my ability (I am far from an expert, but I know a few places to look if I don't know the answer). Email me at sundews.etc@gmail.com.

Very cool blog with some unconventional carnivores. We would very much like to see more Plant Profiles.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading! I'm planning on profiling as many of my plants as possible! Glad you like them.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoy the blog!

DeleteAwesome blog! I got my eyes on a bunch of your seeds! How fast would you say you run out? I'm a little tight on money right now so I'd like to hold off for a while but its good to know that you have so many different kinds of drosera
ReplyDeleteI will definitely have seeds available going forward. Sundews produce a lot of seed, and it stores very well.
DeleteI also pretty much always have plants available for sale, though they're not listed on the blog since I'm not very consistent with my propagation hahahah. You can email me at sundews.etc@gmail.com if you're interested.
Love your web site! Thanks for doing it!
ReplyDeleteI ordered Drosera capensis 'Albino' – 50 seeds $4.00 USD 1 $4.00 USD on 6/11/15. When will they ship? Via Paypal.
ReplyDeleteThey should arrive any minute. I sent you a follow-up email.
DeleteHi, I ordered two D.Burmannii seed packs on 1/11 [(50x) Humpty-doo and (50-100x) Hann river], and have not received any email as to tracking number or otherwise shipment. I have checked my junk folder. PayPal confirms my payment of $10 was processed on the 11th. Please advise.
ReplyDeleteHi Steve. Your seeds were mailed out last week. They are probably taking longer to reach you due to the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday. For seed orders I simply use a standard stamped envelope to save cost, so there is no tracking number. The seeds should arrive in the next day or two, but feel free to email me at sundews.etc@gmail.com if they don't arrive by the end of this week.
DeleteThank you, Devon, for your quick reply. I will be watching for them.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog! How do I subscribe so I won't miss any posts?
